Up high and don’t know how to clean your apartment glass balustrades?

Do you worry about the care and maintenance of your new glass balustrade? Glass is beautiful and should stay that way.

There’s nothing quite like a beautiful view, and glass balustrades are  the best way to ensure the view can be enjoyed to the full.

Clearshield Glass Protection can be applied to the glass onsite to enhance its performance, safeguarding the glass — and the view for years to come with less maintenance and worry.

The unique cross linking treatment bonds to the glass surface and provides protection that repels both water- and oil-based stains. It helps protect against staining, build-up and etching from salt and chlorine spray, as well as dirt and grime. Whereas untreated glass is porous and will absorb contaminants that lead to deterioration, etching and discoloration. Over time it becomes more difficult to clean and maintain the glass, spoiling your views and your asset.

Many balconies are made almost solely from glass these days and cleaning glass on the outside of balconies and balustrades is always an issue. Glass fences are expensive to install and maintain, which means that you need to do everything you can to keep them in good condition.

ClearShield Glass recommends the following basic maintenance programme to optimise the performance and durability of the unique protection:

Regular Maintenance

(a)     If the glass is dusty, hose it down

(b)     Mix 3-4 capfuls of mild detergent per litre of water in a bucket.  Apply to the glass with a non-scouring pad and agitate.  An efficient way to approach the job is to fix the pad to an extendable pole.

(c)      After agitating, run water down the glass with a hose wand attached.  Water will descend down glass resulting in very little moisture left on the glass.  Any drips remaining can easily be removed with a clean dry cloth or squeegee.
